Elimination through the back door of Zambia

Zambia, beaten at home by Zimbabwe (1-0) will miss the Africa (CHAN-2014) Nations Cup 2014 underperformance darkening perhaps the future of the French coach Herve Renard.

After a draw (0-0) to go to Harare, Zambia bowed her home Saturday in Ndola.

Forward Charles Sibanda scored the only goal of the game, calling Zimbabwe for CHAN-2014 to be held in South from January 11 to February 1 Africa.

"The team played well in Harare last week (0-0), but today (Saturday) we failed. We must ask why Zambian teams do not progress in African competitions," Fox said after the game.

Heroes of the CAN-2012 won by the players in Gabon, Fox, 44, is under fire from critics for the poor performance of his team this year in the south to defend his title Africa and the difficulties in qualifying to World-2014.

Currently second in their group, Zambia must absolutely win his next match in Ghana on September 6 to expect to spend in the third qualifying round. Fox hinted that defeat to Ghana could mark the end of his collaboration with the Zambian selection.

Under his leadership, Zambia finished third in the first CHAN in 2009 in C?te d'Ivoire. But she failed to qualify in 2011, eliminated by South Africa.

CHAN is a competition restricted to African players playing in their national championship.
